Design of the 800MHZ Radio System and Command Center - MTA-NYCT

Garg provided structural design and survey services for the accommodation of radio antennae and microwave dishes at 24 sites.  Sites included existing antenna sites and new locations.  This project was completed under very tight scheduling requirements.

 

The major tasks of this Project included:

• Inspection of buildings and existing towers at proposed antenna locations.
• Load rating to determine capacity of buildings towers to support new antenna systems.
• Design of mountings for additional antennae on existing towers.
• Site layouts and foundation designs for ground-based and roof-mounted shelters for communication equipment.
• Design of structural dunnage for roof mounting of equipment shelters, towers, and antenna mountings.
• Development of specifications and cost estimates §   Design of lightning protection system, grounding, and bonding.
• Survey.
